You don’t need to have all the answers
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. You may be carrying worry, sadness or confusion, struggling with something that has happened, or feeling caught in patterns that no longer serve you.
Perhaps you know that something needs to change but find it difficult to understand exactly what is wrong or where to begin.
Counselling offers a space where you can slow down, feel heard and begin to make sense of what is happening for you. You do not need to arrive with the right words or a clear explanation—we can begin wherever you are.
We can begin with whatever feels most important to you
Together, we can explore your experiences at a pace that feels comfortable,
with care, curiosity and without judgement.
What I can support you with
Anxiety and depression
Anxiety can leave you feeling constantly alert, overwhelmed by worry or unable to switch off. Depression may bring low mood, exhaustion, isolation or a sense that life has lost its meaning.
Counselling can help you understand what may be contributing to these feelings and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself.
Trauma and attachment
Difficult or painful experiences can continue to affect how safe we feel, how we relate to others and how we respond to situations in the present.
We can gently explore these experiences and the patterns they may have created, helping you develop greater understanding, stability and choice.
Relationships
You may be experiencing conflict, disconnection or uncertainty within a relationship, or noticing patterns that seem to repeat across different relationships.
Therapy provides a confidential space to explore communication, trust, intimacy, boundaries and the ways in which earlier experiences may influence your relationships today.
Self-esteem and confidence
Low self-esteem can affect your relationships, decisions and ability to recognise your own needs. You might be highly self-critical, compare yourself with others or feel that you are never quite good enough.
Together, we can explore where these beliefs came from and work towards a kinder, more secure sense of yourself.
LGBTQ+ support
I offer affirming and non-judgemental counselling for LGBTQ+ clients wishing to explore sexuality, gender, identity, relationships or any other aspect of their lives.
You may be dealing with the effects of stigma, discrimination, rejection or difficult family experiences—or simply want to speak openly in a space where no assumptions are made about you.
Addictive and compulsive behaviours
Alcohol, drugs, sex or other behaviours can sometimes become ways of managing difficult emotions, experiences or unmet needs. Although they may initially provide relief, over time they can begin to feel controlling or harmful.
I offer compassionate support to help you understand these behaviours, what lies beneath them and what you may need in order to make meaningful changes.
Specialist experience, without judgement
I have particular experience supporting people affected by addictive and compulsive behaviours, sexual difficulties and related health concerns.
These can be difficult subjects to discuss and are often accompanied by shame, secrecy or fear of being judged. I offer a discreet and accepting space where you can speak honestly about what is happening.
My experience includes supporting people with:
You will not be reduced to a behaviour, diagnosis or label.
We will look at the whole of your experience and work together to understand what you need.
Understanding what lies beneath
Many of the difficulties we experience make more sense when we look beneath the surface.
By exploring your story, relationships, emotions and recurring patterns, counselling can help you develop insight into why you feel or respond in particular ways.
My approach is integrative and relational, drawing upon different therapeutic ideas to shape our work around you rather than expecting you to fit a particular method.
